Dan's Communication Expertise
Dan's civil service and private sector careers have been marked by a never-ending passion to serve others in a way that helps achieve key organizational goals and objectives, as well as leads to increased innovations. He has been recognized by government and business executives at the local and national levels for spearheading innovative communication campaigns, developing a data-centric PR approach (analyzing and communicating the results communication initiatives have for a brand), crafting and implementing comprehensive crisis and strategic communication plans/strategies, along with serving as a public relations workshop speaker (e.g., crisis communications, PR writing, social media applications), and so much more.
Dan expertise and wisdom have helped organizations in solving communication-related problems and in building their brands. This includes providing high-quality, well-executed, clear and engaging written materials that promote and safeguard an organization’s image. This type of effective messaging includes crafting press releases, articles, social media posts, media interview talking points, story pitches, media statements, just to name a few. Other ways Dan has helped clients successfully shape their images include with scheduled media interviews and public appearances, inviting journalists and other stakeholders to events, conducting press conferences, utilization of multimedia for storytelling, and reputation management.
In all his external communication roles, Dan has served as an agency/company spokesperson and been interviewed by countless national, regional and local news media representatives. His media relations expertise includes preparing senior leaders for national television interviews, including with CBS "60 Minutes,” ABC News, NBC Dateline, and much more. In situations attracting widespread news attention (e.g., hostage incident, alleged mistreatment of inmates, incarceration of high-profile inmates), Dan served as the federal government's voice before a national audience. Furthermore, in 2002 Dan receive the Federal Bureau of Prison's Myrl E. Alexander (3rd Director of the agency) award for playing a key role in planning the agency's largest media event in its history -- 1,600 news media representatives attended the execution of Timothy McVeigh, who was responsible for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people.
